Vick Vapo Rub!

My grandma sent this email to my mom who sent it to me! I also found it very interesting but haven't had to try it yet.

Subject: VICKS VAPO RUB INTERESTING

During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot
soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within
20 minutes you can 'taste' it.

Some of us have used Vicks Vapo rub for years for everything
from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've
never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time,
although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night
time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put
Vicks Vapo rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then
cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in
about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works
100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong
prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and
comforting and they will sleep soundly.

Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy
talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good,
due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was
a surprise finding and found to be more effective than prescribed
medicines for children at bedtime, i n addition to have a soothing and
calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant
and persistent cough few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it
felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few
minutes and believe me, this was a deep, ( incredibly annoying!) every
few seconds uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours
every night that she used it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try
it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at how it works.

This might be helpful for the cold winter season when some of us get sick. Let me know what you think. Has any one heard of this actually being true?

Ok, so I tried this a month ago when I had a terrible cold, Dallin had Croup and Hannah had a cold. (it was a lovely time for us that week with David gone)

Sad to say, I don't think it works. I tried diligently several nights, with liberal applications, and NOTHING. I was especially hopefully since I'm nursing and can't take any cough medicine.

Bummer.

Aww thats too bad. It sounded so promising. Is everyone better now? I hope so. It will be so wonderful to have David back again. When are you moving?

Everyone is better now. Thank goodness! David got back last night! Woo hoo! We move to Kansas in February. I'll finally be living on my own stuff again after three years! :)

This gypsy life isn't for me!

Aww I'm so sorry. I know what its like to have your other half missing but I can't imagine not having all your stuff with you either. We have to visit with your family before you move. Are you staying in Utah for the holidays. We are heading down to Texas for Christmas!

I took Brookie in to the dr last week cause I thought she was getting croup. Anyways, turned out to be a cold and my doctor told me that there is a fad right now to try and put it on their feet, and it could help. He said there aren't any studies to prove it, but some parents claim it works. I never tried it b.c brookie tends to eat her feet and its bad to injest.
